When you have invented something that you just know will revolutionize the way something is done, you are going to want to get your product, or process, patented. While it seems like you should just be able to file a patent with the US Patent Office and be done with it, there is a lot more to it than just submitting a paper to the US Patent Office. In fact, if one thing is done incorrectly while you are submitting your application for a process you can open yourself up for having your invention stolen from you later on.
