Hello, I'm Karla Mitchell. Going through a legal case can be very expensive and challenging. I won't go into details, but I recently underwent my own legal battle that lasted several years. It is finally over and I successfully received a settlement, but I had to spend so much time studying law in order to play my role in my own court case. While I found a great attorney at one point, I felt completely lost initially and I don't want anyone else to experience the same thing. So I decided to create this blog for those who would like to know more about law.

If you have a disability that makes it impossible for you to work a full-time job, you could have a really hard time making ends meet. After all, even though you can't work, you probably still have to worry about paying your rent or house payment and your household bills, and you probably still need money for food. Providing for yourself financially can be difficult, but you do have a few options to look into if you are disabled.
1. Look Into Social Security Disability
When many people think about Social Security ssi, they think about the monthly checks that older people receive as a type of retirement. However, Social Security also offers disability benefits for those who are unable to work. You can apply for Social Security disability on your own, but many people find that they are more successful in doing so by working with an attorney. A good lawyer should be able to tell you more about the program and whether or not you will probably qualify. If you do, then your lawyer can help you fight for the disability that you deserve. Then, you can have a monthly income coming in that can help you cover your bills and other expenses.
2. Look Into Programs for Disabled Individuals
You might actually find that there are a lot of programs out there for those who are disabled. There are federal and state programs that you can look into for affordable housing or help with purchasing groceries. Some of the local organizations and churches in your area might also offer assistance with paying bills, providing clothing and more. If you work with a social worker, he or she might be able to tell you more about some of the programs that might be available for you.
3. Work from Home
Even if you are unable to work outside of your home because of your disability, there might be some types of work that you can do from home that can allow you to bring in an income. For example, you might be able to find some type of online work that you can do from your bed or chair. If you're able to take care of children or pets, you may be able to do so in your own home for other people. Even if you aren't able to make a lot of money working from home, you could find an opportunity that will allow you to bring in a little bit of cash to help you support yourself.
